Product description

What the listing says
  • A scarf is the ultimate wardrobe accessory that can dramatize any outfit instantly. And what’s more they are sustainable, handmade and green with low environmental impact.
  • Our textiles are produced in small batches at our workshop in rural Bengal, where we celebrate slow fashion that respects people, animals, and the planet.
  • Unlike conventional silk production, which often involves boiling cocoons with the silkworm inside, our Peace Silk is created only after the moth naturally emerges from the cocoon.
  • This ethical process completes the lifecycle and allows the silk to be harvested without harming the silkworms, making it known as Ahimsa, Peace, or Vegan Silk.
  • Our Tussar Peace Silk is handcrafted by artisan Ravi and his family in the small village of Bhagaiya, where silk weaving has been their livelihood for over three generations.
  • The journey begins with Ravi's mother Shivrani Devi, who carefully extracts fibres from naturally empty cocoons after the moth has completed its life cycle.
  • His grandmother gathers the fibres, while his brother Shanikumar, the yarn using a traditional charkha.
  • Finally, Ravi's father, transforms the yarn into magical ahimsa on his ancient wooden loom.
